Wings
Saint Patrick

Podge and Rodge Tribute Band
Ireland's greatest person: John Hume because his life was threatened for many years by both Republican and Loyalist terrorist thugs.

I'll echo Podge and Rodge, John Hume is the greatest Irish person in my living history. He gave his health and dedicated his life to peace in Northern Ireland and all this with out seeking anything in return.

John Hume recently received an Honorary Degree at Trinity this year. He was asked, How was your journey? He replied 'The bus down was fine.'

Could you imagine Gerry, Big Ian, Bill, Tony or even the man of the people Bertie ever giving up their Chauffeur driven Merc's to travel around the country?

All of the above pail in comparison to the input John Hume had for bringing the troubles to an end but unfortunately he who shout's loudest gets the most credit in this world.

If only our politicians were 1/10 as dedicated to serving the people as John Hume instead of serving themselves we would have a Health service to be proud of, the smallest primary school classes in the EU and a stable economy instead of the current mess we're in.
