For God and Ulster!!!

We have fought for over 30 years and we will fight for another 30. The irish have tried to surpress us, we have not been conquered. They try to engage politically, they are unsuccessful. Northern ireland still remains a protestant country and always will. We fight like there is no tomorrow everyday, people of Northern Ireland will remain loyal to the Queen. Carson, Craig, Paisley and others have kept us from a united Ireland, it will never happen. The taigs are still living in their slums.

1: The British aren't in Northern Ireland.
2: Northern Ireland is an independent state in the same way as Scotland is.
3: The majority in the North want to stay in the North.
4: The majority in the Republic don't want the North back because we can't finance it and we don't want to reignite the conflict.
Basically we've gotten over it and have moved on with our lives. After a bloody war of independence, an even bloodier civil war an the long term violence since then we have had enough of it and all we want is peace. |

So What?: Northern Ireland is over 50% protestant, a lot of whom class themselves as British. It is their home also and they deserve their rights also. As said by a previous poster, Northern Ireland is Northern Ireland, it is its only country within The U.K.
I'm from Dublin but most of my family are from Belfast and Portadown, and I can sincerely say that almost everyone on this Island wants PEACE. There has been far too much violence on both sides during the troubles and none of us want to go back to the bad old days. In saying this, there will always be bitterness by some on both sides as 'for God and Ulster' has already displayed.
For God and Ulster: You are nothing but a Sc#m Bag. Bigotry on either side of the divide is unacceptable. The cheek of you to say that yee have been fighting The Irish for over 30 years, We (The Irish) have been mugged raped and pillaged for over 800 years by the British, But the majority of us still want to put it behind us and strive for a peaceful future, and you mention Paisley in your tirade of abuse and hatred, Well even Your Reverend Paisley has seen the light and wants to see peace on OUR Island (when I say OUR island I mean both Catholic and Protestant people whom were born and are from our Island of Ireland.). Thank God that bigotry and hatred the like of which you display are very much the minority these days. |

Ever hear of democracy & diplomacy.
The majority of people in the North consider themselves British and wish to remain as part of the union. The warring factions have laid down their arms and their political representatives, the Irish government and the British government have instituted a peace deal that is holding. One of the reasons that the conflict lasted so long was because of idiots in the States who had romantic ideas about the IRA and financed them and provided weapons. Hundreds of people died because of this. The US under Clinton saw sense and stopped this - and provided one of the best negotiators - Senator Mitchell to help dis-arm and demilitarise the province. The last thing Northern Ireland needs is a load of loud-mouth Americans re-igniting the problem.
Research the issue before making such claims - people die because of thoughts like this. |

Because for many of them, it's their home.
And like it or not, they are inhabitants of the island also. |

You obviously have a very simplified idea of what is going on "part of Ireland is occupied - that is wrong - lets kick the Brits out".
This implies one thing to me, you are obviously not Irish, and with all due respect, you know feck all about a very in-depth subject.
Just to illustrate what I mean, I'll ask a different question. "America is "occupied" by people whose great great great great great great great great great great great grandparents were mostly European. This is wrong. Why don't they all go "home" because America belongs to the Indians?" |

Because it's complicated and people's lives are involved.
Please work on your grammar and stop trying to stir things up when you haven't taken the time to learn the very least about the subject you are asking about.I don't feel like answering this in detail as you obviously can't be bothered yourself. |

Why don't you at least take a little time out to google Northern Ireland history??
Your question ' Why Ireland don't kick the british out of NI' - says it all!
You obviously haven't got the first idea of what the NI concept is about.
Why don't I kick you out of your house?? Do you understand the meaning of that sentence?
You cannot go around kicking people out of their homes for the fun of it - that's how we breed resentment - the history of the north will verify that line of action.
Instead of kicking people out of their homes, should we not be trying to integrate and understand all the different cultures?
New York is probably the biggest melting pot in the world - See how well the many, many different cultures, nationalities, races integrate and live as one in peace! |

They do polls about re-unification, and about half the citizens of Northern Ireland prefer to be part of the UK.
I think three things will change the opinion (1) If the euro keeps performing better than the pound, (2) the older generation keeps dying, and (3) England becomes more and more ethnically diverse. Then NI may vote for re-unification. |

Well - for a start Ireland is an island - not a country. On that island are two countries - the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Are you suggesting that the Republic invades the UK? Why would they do this? The people of the northern counties have the right under the Anglo-Irish Accord as to vote whether to remain within the UK or leave to join with the Republic.
As for that eejit who says that the British government 'gives' NI £50billion a year...what a fool. NI gets £50b for every four years and is in line with the payments received by England, Scotland and Wales. I don't hear NI people shouting about how much we 'give' England. As a tax payer I probably pay more tax than him too, so I do have a right to comment. |

Silly question this one, I'm Irish myself and I can tell you the British army would slaughter our army, we simply wouldn't have a fraction of the resourses that they have. In time the majority of NI may want a united Ireland, the catholic birth rate is much higher than the protestent birth rate and the protestent community is an aging one, but will we here in the republic want then to shoulder the debt burden of NI ?, The outcome may be surprising !
Personnelly I'd love if the legecy of Wolf Tone and the United Irishmen could be resurrected and the Protestent people of Ireland would row in with their Catholic neighbours, we are all Irish, or at least islanders, for god's sake, if we could only sort out our differences we would make one hell of a country |

Chris Brown is the man!
|
yes of course we should! we will just use our non existence air force and navy and our joke of an army against one of the most powerful armies in the world.
Also it would probaly cost thousands of live, collapse our economy, clopse the european union and probably start a mini world war.
Yes... why dont we? |

British government gives 50 billion a year in aid/welfare to the protestants in northern Ireland every year for 1 million protestants which amounts to 50 grand a year for every man women and child needless to say they all have well paid government jobs. They scam the British government by saying tensions exist in order to get this aid. The truth is southern ireland is 100 percent r1b haplotype and northern Ireland is 95 percent r1b haplotype. Racially and gentically they are the same and it is big scam against british taxpayers unite ireland and let it be done enough is enough. |
