Those are actors, hardly a representative sample. It's part of their job description to be pleasant to look at. Just as all American men aren't exactly Brad Pitt, all Irish men aren't gorgeous. Like anywhere else, some are good looking,most are average.

They are not ..... you are joking me, girl. I take it you've never actually been here? Those are just a few, remember there are a couple of million more, and few of those can be accurately described as gorgeous.
First of all, not all Irish men have the 'dark, smouldering good looks' you describe.
Secondly, those guys are in the entertainment business, and in order for them to continue to be successful, they have the retinue of personal trainer, personal dietician, stylist, hairstylist .....
So they are far from stereotypical Irish I'm afraid. The accent wouldn't be half so sexy if it was coming from a balding old bloke with a beer gut and a horrible chain-store jumper.
Mind you, the younger ones are a lot better looking these days - they have the added advantage of being able to look after themselves, of NOT being Mammy's Boys. I think you would be horrified at the number of Irish men aged over 40 who cannot cook and who refuse to do housework. |
