It's terrible isn't it? They keep....working, and....contributing to the economy, and....doing the crap jobs that Irish people couldn't be bothered to do, and...speaking Polish in public....I say kick them all out.

Orla C
No, they're not. They're simply raising the bar. I've had work done by a Polish man in my house, he did it in half the time an Irish guy would have taken, plus he didn't head straight for the kettle for tea as soon as he arrived.

Anyone I've talked to who has had Polish or Czech workers doing construction work for them has found them to be hard workers, clean, tidy and highly skilled. They just get on with the job.

Incidentally, my husband is Dutch and in health care, and happens to work for a registered charity. He is a highly valued employee, doesn't shy away from saying where things can be improved, but is always diplomatic.

And before you start bitching about foreign workers, perhaps you yourself should move to a country where you don't speak the language and try working there for a few months. I did, for years. It was a great experience.

the foreigners arent destroying ireland they are making it better. the polish work very hard and are a good example to us lazy irish people! :) they do all the crap jobs that us irish are too good to do and they smile about it. they are just making a living here because they cant in poland - just like during the famine in ireland when thousands of people went to america. irish people are known for their friendly attitude towards other people so i think you may be alone in the thinking that polish people are 'destroying' ireland ...

also, i saw that one of you question is about moving to austrailia - ironic isnt it?

Rory M
It's people like you are, I've never been assaulted, robbed, hurt in anyway by a foreigner. They have built up our economy doing jobs no one else would, and now that your six week education isn't quite getting you what you want you blame them.

ivastupidname
Can you give examples?

By the way, is English your second language? Your question is very poorly phrased.

Also, in another question you mention youare moving to Australia. Irony?

Flame 187
excuse me but get your facts right before you go blaming foreigners for our messed up economy.

If the stupid government had let the eastern europeans .. etc get a social sercurity number and in turn pay tax, the economy wouldn't be half as bad as it is now. It ain't the foreigners fault. It's the irish government.
Bunch of idiots, what are they spending all the money on?
That's what i'd like to know....

dmIRL
well ur out ta stir sum sh*t

they arent destroying it - racists (like you im guessing) are

cop on

froggequene
I'm sure there are plenty of countries who've felt the same way about the Irish invading their countries, taking their jobs, etc, etc

maybe their horrible spelling is desrtoying it?

Soul Jacker
Fecking Polish who do they thing they are coming over here and wrecking our country.
Working hard for wages that are more than fair for jobs they’re over qualified for. And the fact that Polish women are hot is just one thing too far!

Paul are you Irish? Because from what I've seen we like the Poles very much thank you!

Flying mop dog
They aren't. You are. Emigrate.

What a terrible, horrible thing to say!! No one is destroying Ireland. And with a history of emigration I find any Irish national whingeing about any immigrant totally unacceptable.

when the sun goes down
they're of huge benefit to our economy
do some research and you'll realise how silly you sound

Come on... the fecking irish have populated every other nation on earth and "stolen" thier jobs. I just think you're racist.

mattysin
that is rubbish noone is destroying the country more than the politicians. we moved in our thousands to the likes of America and the Uk during the 80s for work. the Polish are just doing the same. they are good workers and nice people and most of them are just doing jobs that we wont do anyway. look to home for the causes of our problems. btw im 100% Irish and people that blame foreigners for the state of our country and then vote the same group of wasters into power everytime really annoy me. Im not directing this attack at you. you asked a valid question and its very difficult to see through the smoke at the moment with all the crap going on. we need to take a good look at ourselves and get our country ship shape again. too many people resting on laurels. The average Irish person didnt benefit from the so called celtic tiger. we all have mortgages that most of us will not live to see paid off.

Does this mean we should throw all the Irish out of Australia cause they are wrecking it? lol.

M F
Because Ireland has been an insular in-bred dump so long that the only thing to be done is break it down to rubble and build fresh.

The Irish destroyed Ireland long before the current waves of immigration.

Alex C
i agree with you - foreigners do destroy the culture of a country and the country its self. Im half irish and half cypriot and i can see both of my countries being destroyed-foreigners in our era have nothing to contribute(culture etc) the economy is going down -also unemployment goes up to-all the small and mediocre jobs irish would have done are being taken up by foreigners for a lower wage-check the episode south called goobags btw its all about this problem--i am not racious i just believe that all these foreigners countries should be built up and get help so that the countries people dont have to leave --cyprus is already destroyed by the amount of illegal and legal foreigners not to mention the turks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... some of the other answers are crap!!!! seriously

because they dont care about our country or our people im not saying all off them are rude but the ones i have met are very rude! and they would get half as much here ad they would at home!!
