Do you believe that the Ryanair takeover bid for Aerlingus will go ahead before 2010? |
Title says all, really. I believe that pressure from the Irish government will eventually persuade Dermot Mannion to accept Ryanair's offer.

Beats being English,Lol.
O.k. I'll be serious momentarily.
I am proud to be Irish because despite the tragic past with all it's suffering and heartache Ireland through sheer hard work and fortitude picked itself up and educated itself so that now we can hold our heads up and feel proud of how far we've come and how well educated and wordly our children are. This country has turned around and is a country to look up to now.Other countries have taken our lead e.g. Egypt in trying to emulate our success through educating the young, ensuring skilled and capable workers to draw investment in to the country.Ireland got here through hard work and determination and we can be rightly proud.
I'm proud to be Irish because despite the circumstances that scattered the Irish to the four corners there is an undeniabley strong sense of identity that prevails. We stick together, look out for our own, might seem a tad romantic but while other countries moan about losing their identity I don't see it happening with Ireland.Perhaps because those coming in are happy to integrate because we are more accepting of them.I'm proud that we are a tolerant and welcoming people.
Everyone loves the Irish, how could you not be proud of that? We're great craic and sure if you can't have a bit of craic what's the point?
Why wouldn't you be proud to be the lovable, hard working warm-hearted, rogues of Europe? |

I'm with flying mop dog in this, I'm happy I'm Irish, but where I was born and brought up has very little to do with me.
I'm proud of who I am, and what I've done so far, being Irish is a by product of my parents. As for where I live, then of course I want the best for it, and for the people I'm surrounded by. I'm interested in the same things, have similar humour, but that's more nurture than nature. But I would not see me or other Irish people as being any better or worse than somebody born the other side of the planet.
I don't like nationalism of any sort, I hate all that flag waving malarkey, in any country! |

Because some people in this country are proud to live in a pluralistic society which is tolerant of others.
Mind you, we only said SOME people........ |

I'm not. Why be proud of something that you can't help. I like Ireland I'm glad I'm Irish but I'm not proud of it because I didn't do anything to become Irish. |

Because despite of all the things that are shyte about Ireland, there's a goodness and an innocence about the place.
But yeah, like moppy said, it's not really pride, more a general sort of warm fuzziness. |
