Why do Dublin Bus drivers never give you the correct fare?

The bud driver never gives me the correct ticketey thing for my fare. I say €1, throw in a euro and still get an 85c ticket. Whats up with that? And it always happens.
Additional Details
It's the child fare, 85c for 1-7 stages and €1 for 7-the last stop. Plus the drivers don't give you change tickets much.

its never happen to me..i use the bus every day......

I thought they give the change to charity too....

the price is 85c, so he is probably giving you a credit ticket with 15c on it, or at least he should be.
You can go into O'Connell Street bus place to get your refund, or else give them to a charity.

Many people do not check their tickets and if the driver is doing this deliberately his cash at the end of the day will be in excess of the tickets issued and he will be in profit. This could be at your expense on the double. If a ticket inspector gets on the bus and you don't have a ticket for the correct fare you are liable to a fine. It is up to you to check the ticket issued, so point out to the driver that he has given you a wrong one and insist on the correct one. If you are due change insist on getting a ticket for this also.

The buses in Dublin are all "correct fare " only. It is up to the passenger to have the correct fare, in coins. If you give €1 for an 85c fare you will get no change.
For security reasons the driver never handles any money and has no facility to issue change. When you put the €1 in the slot, it goes straight down into a holding safe. The machine reads the amount tendered of €1 and issues a ticket for 85c, but it also records an outstanding balance of 15c due.
If you want to get a refund on the amount owing, bring the ticket to the Dublin Bus office in O'Connell Street and they will give you the refund.

Guaranteed Irish!!!
is there a euro fare thought the new lowest fare is 1.15.except for school and child fares.

When you get on the bus, ask him how much to whatever stop your getting off at, it can differ from just one stop before or after.. Depending on the stage, have a look next time your at the bus stop.

ask others who are using the same line, if you have this problem complain.
