Why do Irish people refuse to acknowledge the problem of immigration?

I don't think we should stop it considering all the Irish who travled and made a good contribution to other countries, I don't see why other pople can't make a good contribution to ireland, having said that our culture is been eroded as is our racial purity , we are one of the most pure races in the world and I quite like the fact that on both side of my parents that as far back as we can tell my ancesters where all Irish , I think this gives us a deep connection whit the land and it would be a shame to lose that

It's because it's not a problem here. If anything, Ireland is under-populated, with only 4.1 million in the Republic. Before the Great Famine in the 1840s there were 8 million in Ireland as a whole (this was before partition) and there is nowhere near that number on the island yet.

Because Irish people travelled to the four corners of the earth.
It would be a bit hypocritical if we started moaning about immigrants.

As a South African that has had to emigrate (due to crime and anti-white government policies in the workplace) and subsequently immigrate into a new culture I believe that the emphasis on immigration should be Integration.

I find myself on the receiving end of your question but at the same time agreeing with you wholeheartedly.
I think it's sad when a culture is diluted and loses the essence of what attracted people to it in the first place.

I do believe that South Africans in general (as with New Zealanders, Australians etc.) do try to integrate into their new homelands.
Obviously it's a bit easier having language, sports and culture in common.
What's the point of accepting immigrants who go on to form separate cultures (fracturing the home culture) and often creating the same problems in their adopted countries from which they fled in the first place?

Immigration should emphasize integration into the existing culture with emphasis on language and cultural compatibility.
I think Europe can learn a thing or two from Australia, Canada and New Zealand's immigration policies.

I see this problem emerging in the young irish people of today ie those under 20. They are more intolerant and spoilt than those of us in our middle to late twenties and above.
This is because they never experienced the Sh1te times when nobody would even look at us never mind come here.
Maybe Ireland needs another 80`s recession, so as to get rid of these brats they would not survive 5 minutes.
In fact why has the 80s and 90s clothes come back into fashon, the clothes looked sh1te then and still do.

Because it isn't a problem. They do the job that the Irish people won't because they would rather get the dole.

I hate that all the foreign people are flooding into Ireland

i dont consider myself racist, i have no problem with the people individually or anything....just that they are the reason behind the SH*T load of construction that are wrecking our towns due to the increased population
and its SO annoying when theres a foreign person (in a shop or something) that cant even speak english properly

i think its messing up our culture too....its getting too mixed and soon there wont be enough 100% irish people
