Why do houses/apartments in ireland all have fireplaces with a mirror on top then their tv in the corner?!?

well i was looking at apartments to rent and the vast majority had a fireplace and a mirror on top. there's nothing wrong with that .. i think it looks nice. i was just wondering anyways :)

lol mine has both, in both our sittin rooms!! well it would look silly if the tele was in the middle of the room(some people wouldnt be able to see it! and theres normally 2 good corners you can put it in

sure how else will santa get into leave the prezzies, you can also still cook your toast when they cut off your electric, the mirror makes the box look bigger, tv in the corner is irish feng sheu..

i don't have a mirror over my fireplace and i'm hardly going to put my television in the middle of the room am i XD
