cause there is a chance you could die.......and a more than likely chance that in the plane if it crashes you die where there is a much better survival rate in cars

redunicorn
Some people are phobic, but others are just worried about being away from home.

Seriously the pressure can do a number on your ears and make you irritable.

im personaly scared of flying.its not that im afraid of terrorist.i think it will be a long time before they can take a plane again.its not because of dying in a crash.although you wont survive a plane crash, very few planes crash now.i dont fear dath at all because i dont regret my life.my personal problem is turbulance.it can get pretty ugly when your plane suffers turbulance problems.

shawnc_2010
well i have never flown before and that is because i am affraid of hights

I don't know. Because seriously . . . a plane is a safer way to travel than a car or any other mode of transportation. I guess since it's off the ground people panic. It's no reason to though.

trick9us
Because gettin up off the ground elicits a real fear response. As much as we tell them it's the safest way to go their anxiety level climbs higher. So if you deal with this try saying to someone: "Of *course* you feel scared it's a weird feeling" or words to that effect.

wolfelady692003
BECAUSE ALOT COULD HAPPEN ON A PLANE. IT COULD CRASH, GET HIJACKED, OR WHO KNOWS WHAT! I DO KNOW I WILL NEVER FLY ON A AIRPLANE NEVER HAVE NEVER WILL

It's like any phobia or anxiety, most people can't explain it. There was once a lady who was fearful of clowns and would cry at the very sight of a clown. Some people are fearful of crowded rooms and need to get out. It's a psychological condition.

andreforu
phobias/ clostrophobie

paranoia.

I know it's nothing and rarely happens but the thought of being surrounded in metal thousands of feet above the earth unnerves me slightly.

I'll get over it eventully.

Some people also have a fear of attacks after 9/11 and others have had bad experiences, like my uncle, who was flying to America from Scottland when the plane nose dived heading straight towards the ocean. They regainsed control but after that he swore he'd never fly again.

love_alw_693
I dont know I think its fun. I guess there either afraid of hights or an accident but accidents in planes are really rare. Or else its cuz there afraid of highjackers. If your afraid don't be plane rides are really fun.

It is a phobia.Like any phobia,it's difficult to get rid of.I know ,because I'm a nervous flyer, esp. at take-off and landing.

well, i guess the thought of spiraling out of control from 35,000 feet kinda scares them. or maybe being burned alive after the plane skids off the runway, as for me, i hate flying, usually because there is some ***** next to me that just will never shut the hell up.
