Why is Ireland SO beautiful?

I recently saw a documentary about Ireland on PBS and the views were just amazing. The grass was so green; is that because it rains a lot over there? The castles looked spectacular. Why is it so beautiful in Ireland?

During the ice age and when the Atlantic conveyer current (produces heat) shifted away from Europe, Ireland was completed covered in ice for hundreds of years. Once the ice and glaciers melted, it left a beautiful array of mounds, hills and landscapes. The castles are part of a rich Celtic history that goes back for hundreds of years.

I'm from Ireland, and yes, it rains an awful lot here!
I think condition of the land is greatly influenced by the weather here, and also our geographical location. =]
You make a good point, because I live here, I probably don't appreciate it as much as I should!

everything is beautiful there... especially the girls :D

Your half right, It's the ocean beside us, the rain brings nutrients from the sea and that helps with plants growing. Notice how people will say go to the west of Ireland, it's because it's closer to the ocean.

i agree. there are soo many other beautiful places too. i love looking at pictures of other countries and wishing i was there. everything is so pretty and untouched. i would have to agree that humans are the ones that can determine a places beauty. whether it be pollution or just industrializing things. i think greece one of the most beautiful places.

I Live in Ireland, but I live in Dublin, its not like the country side its full of buildings and houses and shops.. but the country side is absolutely gorgeous, and relaxing too =) I think its bcoz of the rain too im not sure LOL.. Living in Dublin is not like Ireland at all LOL its like America or London or something =) But yeah the country side is just amazing! I bet when you were watching that documentary they didnt mention Dublin LOL

I think it just depends on the landscape and what architectures were built there. I think Versaille, a city in France, looks extremely pretty. History is different in all countries, which lead to these spectacular events/places. I most definitely want to visit Europe sometime.
