Another name for Ireland is the Emerald Isle. it is beautiful, and there are many different shades of green as a result from rainfall.

The green on the Irish flag represents on catholics
The land is rich and agriculture booming due to the rain on the soil
Leprechauns are thought to wear green and apparently Ireland is home to the leprachauns

It rains every day in Ireland and as a result the countryside is very lush and green which is why it's called the Emerald Isle

Ireland is known as the emerald isle because of its lovely lush green grass, only one other place can lay claim to the same that's Kentucky but there grass is bluer

ravebaby

Well, I think it's because it is one of the colours on their flag.

Ireland is also known as the 'emerald isle' and after visiting the place I can see why. The country is so green and lush - it's beautiful.
Their football/rugby etc. kit is always green

If you fly into Ireland, particulary Shannon ,you will observe how green and lush the fields and hedges of Ireland are.On some days, depending on the light, you will see fourty Shades of green. No burned landscape here due to the wet climate.
