Thank you for your time! I appreciate!

I should be doing something else
I'm with Orlc C here, I don't have the time or the inclination to type out the long, long history of explaining what is going on in Northern Ireland (Not North Ireland!!)

It is not as black and white as 'Catholics and Protestants'

Just be aware that contrary to common belief, it is not a religious issue, it is a political issue.

*Sigh*.

Go to wikipedia. I just don't have the time.

There is conflict, ethnic and political, in every corner of the planet. we are no different. we are just humans too

some people are just pathetic they cant let the past conflict stay in the past. no good came of it then and no good will come of it now. it used to be black vs white tat was resolved for the better but this ole catholic vs protestant wont go away cus ppl are bringing their kids up to hate the other. its time to move on! but sumhow i dnt tink it ever will!

Jesus Christ that would take hours

when the sun goes down
there isn't
look up wikipedia as someone else said

There isn't any ETHNIC conflict there. But there are people of strong opposing political views who try to push them forward regardless of the wishes of the ordinary people, and there are others whose antisocial activities (bank raids, knee-capping, punishment beatings, protection rackets among others) are really nothing more than thuggery in disguise.

because Ulster (Northern Ireland) was planted by the English in the 17th century leaving many English people there
the rest of Ireland was also planted but the plantation failed for various reasons
so, the majority of people in Ulster became protestant while the rest of Ireland were predominantly Catholic
later, in the early 1900s, people in Ulster thought that Ireland should stay united with Britain because they were afraid they would be a minority if Ireland was separate. Protestants would be the minority and Catholics may punish them
Catholics wanted to be free from British rule though and this caused tension between the 'unionists' and the 'nationalists'

Hope that helped :)
i was learning about it in school today :)

Its simple. Most people are simple British people the rest are IRA terrorists intent on killing anyone that is British.

North Ireland is part of the United Kingdom. Alot of people in Northern Ireland want to be a part of Ireland and not have any connection with the UK, these people are the Irish Republican Army. Though I sympathize with them because I am Irish I also disagree with the terrorist things that they do like bombs and murder.

also I will add that it has a lot to do with the religious reasons. Irish are Catholics and alot of british are protestant.
