Will the Irish harass you for wearing Orange?

I know it seems kind of silly to ask this nowadays, but I was just wondering. I have a bright orange leather bag and an orange jacked. I don't want to offend anybody while I'm visiting Northern and Southern Ireland this summer. Has anyone had a problem wearing orange in Ireland?

Im irish and we do not treat our vistors like that, wear what you like, and should you get any hassle(which is highly unlikely) go to the Gaurds and report. i wish you a pleasant time in ireland , you will love it and you will come back again and again.

Certainly not. Lots of people wear orange!

No such place as Southern Ireland, dear. It's the Republic of Ireland or the Irish Republic.

I've never been to Ireland, but it seems to me that you can wear whatever you want. Wearing orange clothes in a country should never be considered a political problem. I'm sure the country does not tell its own people not to wear it.

First, keep in mind that there is orange in the Irish flag. Legend has it that the orange represents the Protestants, the Green the Catholics, and white the peace between the two (Irish flag always flies with the green stripe next to the flag pole). I don't think you will get harassed about it, but the Irish are proud people with very strong feelings about the separation between North and South.
