i moved to ireland at the age of 13 (from the UK). there are quite a lot of things to get used to. i remember i found it hard to make friends, and even just being from england felt very 'foreign', but now 9 years later i'm great! it was just a matter of settling in, like anywhere really. Ireland doesnt have as many things to do as other places, but people are warm ! |

Im 15 and have lived in Ireland all my life. i really don't like living here. it is quite boring,i would say its alright for a holiday but not to stay long-term. What things do you need to know? |

it depends on a few things. i moved there from the usa a kid. being an American allot of kids thought it was cool or i was a snot, but you will get that when you move any where. If you are one of those kids who cant live with out a computer every five seconds you might have a problem, but you will get use to it.good luck =D |

We're sure you would. Sher we have ipods and computers and the interweb and colour television and 3 TV channels (4 if ya count TG4 but since when does One Tree Hill constitute the development of the Irish language?)
We also have aeroplanes and recordable DVD players (although we still haven't a feckin clue how to use the thing) and coffee bars and McDonalds and Burger King.
Oh and we also have 'Shopping Malls'. |

well im 18 and my sis is 15...
Yeah sure youd like it, but the same as you would probably like any country. You've likely been watching too many films if you think Ireland is a magical idyllic land or something.
Also, we're in the middle of a recession here, theres no jobs (even for us irish people) and really its not the best time for a family to be moving here - in my opinion... |

Trust me I'm a Doctor ♥

Depends which part of Ireland you want to live in, rural village or a town/city. My son is 14, my daughter is 13 and where we live is a very quiet place in the countryside so they do get a bit bored. I have to drive them around a lot, just been 26 mile round trip to pick him up from a friends house.
Would you be moving with your family? You make it sound like its your independent decision would would be unusual at 14 ?

Probably not unless you can speak gaelic, are Catholic and like the rain every day. My niece aged 14 hated it as she was not catholic and did not speak gaelic. Its not compulsory but expected. |

i heard its boring there like mostly farmland but idk that was from a friend that went there when she was 8
i'd try finding a site with a blog of some sort so you can talk to some irish kids and ask them yourself |
