My favorite place in Rome is the Pantheon and I always drop into Santa Maria Sopra Minerva when I'm in that area. Then there's the Colosseum, the Vatican museums, the Mouth of Truth, and Villa Borghese.

All the major attractions are worth seeing. Sometimes I like to just wander through the city visiting the fountains.

Depends on what you like. I liked the Colosseum, the Pantheon, and the Roman Forum. Vatican City is a must and you should also check out the Villa Borghese as others have mentioned. Great art but you need to make a reservation to get in. It is on the same side of the city as the Vatican.
