A week in Tuscany?

Hi,

I am thinking about a week in Tuscany. Can anybody recommend a nice area to stay? I’m looking for a quiet villa, but within walking distance of restaurants etc.

Thanks for any help.

I suggest you to stay in Agriturismo in Val D'Orcia, near Siena, Montepulciano, Montalcino.

Look at this link:

This is my favourite one:

Anywhere in Val d'Orcia.
Pienza is very picturesque. I highly recommend it.

Pontremoli near Massa Carrara not far from Bologna Genova Milano by coach or train.

Fiesole is close to Florence and is cheaper and I think nicer. There are small local restaurants and public transportation into Florence. Pistoia is also nice but a bit further out.

If you go to Tuscany, you HAVE TO visit Florence and Pisa, because they are super! Really really wondeful!!
Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa is one of the most important attraction in Italy and I think it's a pity if you don't see its beautiful tour, that has a old story (many scientists used this tour to do their experiments!). Florence is "la culla del Rinascimento", it's the "mother" of all kinds of art!
I hope you'll enjoy your holiday, beacause Italy is really fantastic!

In my opinion the best is the region of Siena, which is in the middle of the country and is full of charming little villages. In "agriturismo" you can make country life enjoying quiet and relax. The town of Siena is wonderful, just like villages like Pienza, San Gimignano, Chiusi, Volterra... Food and wine are excellent.
Florence is a very beautiful town, but bigger than Siena and not so quiet.
