Affordable Accomidations in Rome????

I will be visiting Rome for 3 days, 4 nights, in two weeks and can't find any accomidation that combines decent quality (i.e., good customer feedback) with low prices (i am a student). Does anyone have any suggestions for a specific hostel or another housing alternative? Thanks a bunch!

I lived in Rome for 6 months and worked at a hostel near the Vatican, which has since closed. However, we used to work with other hostels to find availability, etc. so I know of a few.

My favorite by far is the Beehive, http://www.the-beehive.com/. It's run by an American couple and is clean and quiet.

I also like Colors, http://www.colorshotel.com/. They are located on the other side of the Tiber River close to the Vatican.

On my trip last summer my fiance and I stayed at Maryelen B&B, http://www.maryelen.com/. It's about a 5 minute walk from the main station. It was wonderful--clean, quiet, and very friendly. The owners also have a restaurant across the street and we had a wonderful dinner there.

Hope this helps.... buon viaggio!

There are lots of small reasonable priced hotels around Termini Railway Station. Hotel Stella is a 2 stars hotel but it's clean, comfortable and cheap. It is located in the centre of Rome, a five minute walk from the train station. The service is also quite nice.
A cheaper solution is always the Youth Hostel. "Youth Hostel Foro Italico" is near the Olympic Stadium and you easily reach the city centre by bus.

Since you're a student, and you don't mind staying in Hostels... We stayed in Hotel Alessandro, and we really liked it. There were six people total in our room, and everyone in our room went to the vatican together. We met really interesting people from all over and did a little traveling with some. Personally, I like hostels, and I'd rather spend my money on good food and museums. The second time I was there, we stayed in a private hostel with a shared kitchen. That was decent too! Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of that one.
