Affordable shopping in rome?

i'm going to rome the third week of january and i'm looking for affordable places to shop for trendy clothes. i like H&M, but they have that here in america so i don't really want to go six hours to shop in some place i have 10 mins away. (its not a shopping trip, but i'm figuring a full day for shopping?) i'd like to find some place to buy my prom dress, but i don't want to spend more than $150 or 100 euros. is that even possible? i read about stores called upim, coin, and oviesse...are they good? i'm not looking for red carpet showstopping glamor, i just want plain affordable clothes.

Just walk down via del Corso and it's side streets, You can window shop the best and opt for the most affordable, i.e. the best buy, which is rarely the cheapest. There's for all walks of life, from the trendy to the very smart. Beware of poor imitiations from the Far East (love the place but not it's shoddy goods they dump here where I live). Look at the tags and check where they were produced.
€ 100,00 can still get you a decent buy.
Buon divertimento

Click on this link to find several clothing stores in Rome.
I am sure that at least some of them will have pictures and prices. Also addresses and phone numbers.

Have a happy trip,

Monsoon is a great store (a friend of mine bought her prom dress there), but I believe that there is only one in Florence.
La Rinascente is a nice department store--it might be a bit pricey though. The accessories and jewelery there is reasonably priced. Just walk around and you will find plenty of department stores.

Have a great time!
