Am travelling to italy and we havent found any tourist attrractions yet.any ideas?

You cant find any attractions? sorry sweetie but ... have u checked a guide book... just to mention ... lonely planet italy?
I am Italian... well.. if we start to criticize Italy we can talk for hrs because we have many problems...but you cant tell me that u cant find any attractions.

Depends on where you are going. Florence, Rome, Pisa, just about anywhere you look there is something to see.

See rome and most of italy is just the same. go 2 pisa and see the tower in addition. if u like the see go to the tuscany seaside or amalfi coast
florence is for art buffs who like staring at paintings etc, and all that comes for a price
venice is good just 4 a day trip. it is very dirty and water looks ver polluted
i was in italy recently, its worth a visit only if u admire archtitecture and art

Where are you? Are you sure you are in Italy? Or are you near the antartic circle? Try to go into a church...you could find a Caravaggio on your left or th 'PietÃ ' of Michelangelo on your right. But if you are in the countryside...try to go into an agriturist or a restaurant...and eat something. Also food is a turistic attraction!

You can't find any tourist attractions? We are talking about Italy, right? The European country shaped like a boot, right? Where Rome, Florence, Venice, Pisa, Milan, and Capri are? With Rome being one of the cradles of Western Civilization, right? You mean the country that has the leaning tower of Pisa, the Duomo, David, The Last Supper, the Imperial Forum, Caesar's Death Location, The Colisseum, Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast, World Famous wines in Tuscany, The Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Cathedrial, Medici Villas and Museums, and the Pantheon?

Get a guide book and go to the library and check out a travel DVD on Italy. We used the Fodor's Gold guide for Italy and it was perfect -with walking tours and breakdowns of what to see if you only have limited time. You'll find thousands of things to do by taking the initiative and researching. Good luck to you and have a safe trip.

When I went to Italy for a week, I only made it to Florence and Venice. But there's HEAPS of stuff to see in Italy.
-Leaning Tower of Pisa (in the same courtyard as the tower, there's a couple of other buildings to look at)
-In Florence I went to the Porta San Frediano, Piazza Cestello, Piazza Del Carmine, Santo Spirito, Piazza Dei Pitti, Ponte Vecchio (the best bridge in the world, it's lined with jewellery stores), Galleria Degli Uffizi, Badi Fiorentina, Bargello, Duomo (the most gorgeous church I saw in Italy, make sure you climb the stairs to the top. It's AMAZING), Battistero, Piazza Vittorio Veneto, Porta al Prato, Palazzo Dei Congress, San Marco, Gallery of the Academy (an ABSOLUTE must as this is where the Michelangelo's Statue of David is kept. It's not well advertised but make sure you go), SS. Annunziata, Piazza D.Azeglio, Sinagoga, Santa Croce, Palazzo Media Riccardo, Santo Lorenzo, and the Santa Maria Novella. I only had 3 days in Florence but I saw everything there was (mostly churches).
-In Venice I went to the Doges' Palace (absolutely gorgeous, and some parts are lined with gold), St Mark's Basilica, Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, Murano island (where they make Murano glass). Keep in mind almost everything in Venice closes between 12pm and 3pm so they can have a long lunch. Venice is gorgeous, is not as "dirty and smelly" as most people say, and is definetely somewhere you should go as it may sink.
-Also go to Rome (I didn't go there, but it does have many historical places to visit).

Don't get run over. Italy seems to have no road rules and they will drive and park anywhere with no regard for whether or not you're standing on the footpath or walking across a pedestrian crossing. Be careful on and near the roads!!

Italy is absolutely gorgeous, and I guarantee you will find a tonne of things to see. Have fun and enjoy your trip. (Enjoy the gellatos, they're fantastic!!)

Never heard someone saying something like that about Italy. Italy is like a huge museum, doesn't matter where you go, Torino, Milano, Venezia, Verona, Bologna, Firenze, Perugia, Roma, Bari, Napoli, Calabria...or a a small village. It's absolutely gorgeous everything in Italy (the sea, the nature and the huge cultural background). Have a nice trip!

Could be wrong, but this is probably not a serious question.
Italy is almost like Disneyland or Disney World, especially Venice and probably Rome.
I agree with the other assessment that the whole Italy is a tourist attraction. I don't think there are many countries that can compete with Italy as far as having so many tourist attractions.
On the other hand, you can easily avoid tourist attraction type of places as well!
All in all, I think Italy has the best of both worlds.
Anyone should be able to enjoy Italy either way.

You might wanted to ask "which is the best one", in this case you have plenty of answers yet: just google some of them.

As an Italian, I should say it all depends on what you really meant by "tourist attrractions". Nevertheless, Italians do have them!

I don't believe you are in Italy right now... but if you are there, don't even bother to move and touristic attractions will find you!
