Went a couple of years ago, and it was lovely - and yes, I'd go back. Take the train to Naples, and stop off at Pompei. If you can, try and hook up with others and share the cost of a tour guide - it makes the journey round Pompei much clearer.. We took a bus ride for the Amalfi coast - spectacular scenery, but a bit scary on the sharp mountain road turns! The best bit was just sitting in the square in Sorrento, people watching and enjoying a relaxing drink or two....or three...enjoy yourselves.

Yes, I've been in Sorrento and is a very nice resort. You'll find hotels, restaurants (Enrico Caruso had here the last performance), you can do sports on the Mediterranean Coast. But, you must know that very close to Sorrento is Capri and you must not miss it.

Sorrento is a beautiful coastal town. The streets are typically Italian, and therefore exciting and very entertaining. My wife loved the shopping there. Great street cafes and bars for people watching. Be sure to try the drink that Sorrento is known for, Limoncello. We are returning to Italy next year and Sorrento will again be on our itinerary.
