i would have to agree with other posters, it is one of the most beautiful. but in my heart is florence when it comes to italy. given a chance, i would go back to both in a heartbeat.

I think that Rome is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but after I've seen a few more, I've thought that there are others that are very lovely too, i.e., Cape Town, South Africa; St. Petersburg, Russia; Paris, just to name a couple.

Italy is my favorite country in Europe. I love the culture and the history. I'm going to Tuscany this fall.

Rome is very beautiful but I think Venice is better. More romantic. A special feeling about the city. + if u lived there for 8 yrs u must know what its like trying to cross the road !!!!

paris
Sorry, but :1.Every time I was in Rome I felt great.
2.I don't think is the most beautiful city in the world.
P.S. I think is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Rome is a beautiful city, and probably one of the most beautiful in the world. But not the most beautiful (at least to me). I liked Florence and Tuscany more.

I actually think San Francisco is also one of the most beautiful, and probably more so than Rome, but still not the most beautiful. I have yet to visit many more cities to make any comparisons, and I've been to most of the big and/or beautiful places.

I LOVE Rome! I went for the first time last month and miss it so much. I would love to live there for a while, but I really can't stand the gypsies. I obviously don't look like a local so they were all over me!

yes...one of the most. caput mundi rules! a parte gli scherzi è davvero una bellissima città. torna in italia...o porta un mio bacio oltreoceano. ciao.

Rasenar
I perfectly agree!
It's an old, dirty and chaotic city, but it is THE CITY.
A wonderful location, a very good weather, past and present everywhere and peculiar inhabitants.
There are many cities better than Rome in the world, each one for something specific (historic period, organization, location, etc.) but altogether Rome is the best city in the world.
