I'm italian and I've been there many times.
I prefer Gardaland to Disneyland Paris (I didn't like it very much...), but I've never been in Disneyland in US.
Gardaland.. I think is very nice and every year they add some new attraction. But there aren't only water rides, there are many type of things: shows, games, roller coaster, themed attractions as the ancient Egyptian or the pirate ship and many other attractions.
The only problem of Gardaland is that if you go only one day you can't see all because there are often long queues to access games, in particular the news.

disneyland is better.. but if u likes water parks there are so many of them in italy...
"le caravelle" near Genova is the biggest of europe!! and there are also more parks like fantastilandia, with the highest panoramic wheel of europe!!

The waterpark will open again in June- now it's too cold to keep it open.
Gardaland is great, better then EuroDisney in Paris.

I've passed it a few times although I've never been in. It's a lot smaller than Disneyland but there's a lot of screaming so it must be good.
