I am visiting Rome for a day trip this weekend and cannot decide between the city tour buses. Is there any recommendations or reviews about any that you have used. Also do any of the cruise tours run in November? Thanks
There isn't a huge difference between the hop-on, hop-off buses. They offer audio commentary while you're on the bus. The main feature is that you can get off where you want to explore and then get back on a later bus to continue around the loop. Normally, I just walk when I'm in Rome, but these aren't a bad way to go if you've only got a day there. Some of the cruises do run throughout the year - some will be only Saturday and Sunday after the 15th though. You can check availability here: http://www.romeopentour.com/crociere.asp
