Are Italian girls affectionate?!!?

My family went to Florence Italy last month and my dad had a friend that's italian and he introduce us to his wife and his daughter (She was FINNEE) they just hugged me and kiss me on the cheeks like they know me lol! I'm not bothered by it..i understand they're being polite but are they always like this? I also have a friend and she's part italian and she's very affectionate and flirtatious!

Damn! All of a sudden I have this sudden interest in italian girls! They're HOT!!!

I'm American and I married an Italian and lived in Italy for 5 years and I've learned the culture very well and can give you a little insight into this.
It's common for women and even men to kiss each other on the check when meeting, if your family or friends and if you know them after a while.
Their culture in general is affectionate and very hospitable (the more south you go in Italy the more extreme it becomes), but at the same time don't take this as an indication that she has a romantic affection for you.
In the end, people are people, girls are girls, humans are humans, no matter what nationality one is or where they come from, she's just showing hospitality and being a warm affectionate person!

1- Yes our women are passionate.
2- It is traditional when meeting friends and their families long time absent from your view to give a double kiss, one for cheek.
3- If she did it with too much lips for your standard, just try to investigate a little more! ;-)

I'm Italian and I agree with what you say.
When we meet a new person and we are introduced we kiss the person on the cheeks.
I think it's nice.
Italian girls are affectionate.
Come to Italy sometimes!!!
I'm from Prato, near Florence.

ps: excuse me for my bad English

Yes we are very friendly and we do give two kisses each on one cheek to say hi to someone.
Why don't you come to live in Italy???
It is nicer!

honey.. they weren't "affectionate and flirtatious" for some strange reason ...
it's really common in Italy this, and also men do this way (well, generally with parents or old -good friends)...so ...
don't consider it an "avance"...

kiss
