Are girls travelling to Italy usually naive about things?

When I say "things" I mean Italian men. There is a fantasy about the Italian lover and many girls I hear talking about falling in love when going to Italy.

Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps...
As a young "thing" (i.e. Italian man), I'll tell you so: the "latin lover" myth is an old myth. Many Italians, especially in the North, aren't "hotter" or "more romantic" than French or Spaniards. However, my suggestion to all foreign "naive girls" is: be cautious! We are a country with collapsing civicness and this has consequences also in social relations. Italians are growing even more cynical, mischievous, untrustworth. Yes, there are still good guys, but don't bet on it.
Bye!

I would go there just for the fun and the food. I don't believe that Italian men fantasy bull-****. There are good men, bad men, hot men, ugly men, all types of men everywhere. Just because they are from Italy doesn't make thems 'gods' or something of the sort.

Italian men are more than happy to flirt and to be affectionate- especial;y in shops where they are trying to sell you things. They will chat you up to make a sale. Also, if you are looking to hook up with someone- you will find men who are interested- but I think that is true in any country!

To jetgirl. I wil try to explain this issue.
In many italian areas nobody would use line bus to travel. Italian city trasports have a worlwide fame to be unreliable and always unpredictably in late.
Instead city bus travel in order to add local flavor and color for tourists.

In many southern Italy, bus stops are used as workplace for prostitutes. And some models of purse are a distinctive mark for this inveterate career.

Luckily, you have encountered willbe clients only: you risked a life-threatening confrontation with an angry, greasy mafious pimp.
Or to be sued for trademark infringment for your purse use.

Well not all Italian men are dodgey .. although don't get me wrong there are many who do hang around foriegn tourists (women). Im sure some Italian men are .... romantic. LOL Women shouldn't expect to go to Italy to fall in love BUT they shouldn't be closed off... you just never know!

I found the Italian men (for the most part) to be repulsive and exploitative. For example, I stood at a bus stop in Campania for thirty minutes, wearing a sweater and pants and carrying a suitcase, and in that time twelve men pulled over offering me money for sex. I found that they didn't treat me with respect until they had got to know me well, whereas men from English-speaking countries are usually more respectful from the start. The girls who talk about falling in love in Italy are the ones who are desperate in their home country AND desperate overseas. They just perpetrate the common Italian myth that English(-speaking) girls are easy.

EDIT: I don't own any knock-off products, but thanks.

All around the world it is the same "they" want to get into your pants.
But in italy you have the feeling they also are trying to get into your heart too. But in the end its all the same if its not true love, he will not be coming back.

Hey Pepper,,,,,

Look dear,,, there are lots of good looking people in Italy,, men and women,,, Where the American girls go wrong is,, they get distracted easliy,,,and the pickpockets work in groups...

Before you know it, your money, camera, phone and maybe your panties will be gone !!!! They are very good.. so, pay attention to what is going on around you,,,, not just window shopping for the guys !!!! please....

good luck
