Oh my goodness yes......I've been to three cities in Italy; Rome, Florence, and Asissi. Asissi don't have as many street vendors, but Florence has ALOT and Rome has even more. But, when you buy something, never buy it full price because they will always go down. However, I went around 3 years ago and I bought me a fake Louis Vuiton (If thats how you spell it), but now I hear that there is a law against that, so I just don't know.

I'd make a difference between street vendors (ambulanti) which are often illegal and sell counterfait merchandise, and Market vendors, which are legal and sell cheap merchandise (either not designer made or stock items). Both are extremely common. Markets are held weekly in most towns, in the big cities there are markets that work every day of the week.

Oh yes thier are so many vendors some will even bring to your front door but you need to watch out for quality of the merchandise.
You need to check out the local flee markets and depending where your going and the city some are only once aweek and others every day.
