Are there alot of ATM or banks around Paris and Rome to get cash from travellers cheques or debit cards etc?
I dont want to bring too much money along with me just in case it gets stolen or what not. So i thought that travellers cheques might be better and more convinient

Last time I went to Paris for a short trip I only used a credit card and never needed cash, although used ATM at airport. Bought metro tickets, meals and drinks all with credit card. Had all the Euros unused at end.
