There is a Hilton which is at the airport. You can walk from the terminal. However while it is very nice, it isn't cheap.
One of the least expensive is La Scaletta at the beach in Lido di Ostia - 75 euro and not too far from the airport. One advantage is that the check-in is open 24 hours a day which is not the case of all the hotels in the area. http://en.venere.com/hotels_rome_ostia/l...
You can use the venere.com link above to check on other options in the area just click on more accommodation.
Another inexpensive option in the town of Fiumicino is Motel Corsi 90 euro http://en.venere.com/hotels_fiumicino/to... It's about a 15 minute drive from the airport.
You can also use venere to find hotels in the area of Ciampino.
One point to consider is that there is a direct train from Roma Termini to Fiumicino airport. The trains take about 30 minutes. You can stay near the station and still have convenient access to the airport. |

Yes, but the train from the airport to the main train station Termini, is fast and relatively cheap that it pays to stay in Rome proper. There are several very good hotels near the Termini
including one at which I recently stayed--a block from the station--Radisson SAS Hotel. |

Forget the airports. they will cream you where ever. Take the 30 min to head into Roma and get a pension near the statzione. |

Hotel Louis 3 stars 1,5 km from airport and close to trainstation might be a good choice.
CiampinoHotel - 3 stars 1,2 km from airport

yes, there are hotels close to the airports but you should stay in rome & taxi to the airport. very quick & easy -- about 30 minutes -- quicker sunday mornings when roads are empty. there is also a quick train many times a day......
no need to stay next to the airport... |
