Are there nice beaches around Lake Garda?

I'm going to Lake Garda next week (last week of August), and staying in the town Garda. Are there beaches around the lake on which you can sunbathe and swim in the lake? Can anyone recommend a particular place to do this? Many thanks.

There are beaches at various places around the lake.

There's a pebble beach at Garda, there's also a nice beach at Punta San Vigilio a little further north.

The one at Torbole at the extreme north end of the lake is pretty good. There's a picture here: http://www.hickerphoto.com/lake-garda-beach-scenery-torbole-italy-34387-pictures.htm

Closer to Garda, there's a beach called Punta Caval near Torri del Benaco.

There's a photo of the beach at Lazise here: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://cache.virtualtourist.com/466405-beach_near_Lazise-Lago_di_Garda.jpg&imgrefurl=http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/309de/24c3d/&h=271&w=403&sz=28&tbnid=2NBKnJEKC50J::&tbnh=83&tbnw=124&prev=/images%3Fq%3D%252B%2522garda%2522%2B%252B%2522beach%2522%2B%252B%2522photo%2522&hl=en&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=1&ct=image&cd=1

There are some really nice beaches. Most of the beaches are pebble beaches but near Lazise there is a sandy beach. The best beaches are generally near the south - Lazise and Desenzano but their are some up the top too.

well the area near lake garda is very nice.
the beaches are mostly pebble beaches but they are still fine. but i prefer sand beaches.
