There are not 10 good reasons to stay away from Italy.

Italy is one of the most scenically beautiful and culturally amazing countries in the world. The people are also very beautiful.

If you don't like fun or hate eating or can't stand gorgeous artwork then you should stay away from Italy. Maybe a person who hates beauty could come up with 10 reasons to stay away from Italy?

my gran was Italian, so am part Italian, been once & it's lovely.
can't think of 1 good reason not to live there, let alone 10!

Me
I am and I'm not!!!
I have a dual citizenship, having kept my original citizenship and acquired the Italian after living here so long (and marrying an Italian)
Why do want 10 reasons to not to live in Italy???????? I suppose if one really thought you could find 10 reasons to not to live in any country and even more positive reasons to live in a place. Either you want to live here or you don't!!! There is good and bad in every country, it's up to you to enjoy life and to make the most of where you are. Only you can decide where you want to live..............

rosie
not

i have been many times

there aren't 10, only language barrier (for me anyway) and the work is not plentiful

the roads suck
the people are mostly quite rude
the mentality can appear quite conservative
some aspects of the country are ruled by the church
italian politics is a joke
we switched sides during both world wars
the schooling system is terrible
women are highly discriminated
the driving is insane
nobody cares about jack ****

there! enjoy!

i'm italian and live in Italy!

living in Italy is great because there's a lot to see: sightseeing and art.
Plus, you are really close to a lot of other interesting countries!

I'm Italian, I live in Italy and I love my country but let me try answer your question:
-not easy to find a job
-women at work discriminated
-no assistance for working mothers (like good possibilities of matching work and kindergarten and similar structures)
- the Pope is in Italy and he interpheres with politics
-menthality not too open

here is five reasons... let me think if there are more...

- too many taxes
-renting or buying a house is very expensive
-salaries are low

two more... (not easy to find more)
- men are machos (male chovinists)

one more... not easy, indeed!!
-children are very spoilt

yes, I'm italian and I'll do my best to discourage you...bureaucracy is so long, you must be very patient--
public services usually don't work well-- people are pretty individualistic-- houses are very expensive, now more than ever.--job also might be a problem.. you have to know the right person if you want to get something-- university is awful, doesn't work at all--

A good reason not to live in Itally... very very difficult to find a job.

Miyagi
1. The people are rude and arrogant racists
2. The country is corrupt and you can only get something done if you know the right person or bribe.
3. They never stop going on about their food but actually I have had food poisoning several times. I don't think it's that great- and also they save the **** and overcharge for the tourists.
4. The traffic is sado-masochistic
5. The monuments are beautiful but usually dirty and covered in graffiti
6.The beaches are crap and overcrowded and most of the Adriatic coast is polluted with asbestos.
7.They will steal anything that isn't nailed down.
8. The men perve over women in a disgusting way.
9. The women perve at men for what's in their wallet- especially if they are foreign.
10. Olive oil is carcinogenic and causes cellulite (for the girls obviously)
