Areas of Rome?

Can anyone advise what areas in Rome would be best for 3 40something girls to spend 3 nights. We'd like an area that felt safe and was close to the sights as well as a few bars and restaurants.

Don't stay near Termini. It's not that safe or nice. You can find something reasonably priced in a much better location. Try this website: www.nycerome.com. You can choose a hotel by area. I recommend Via Veneto, Trevi Fountain, Villa Borghese, Spanish Steps, Pantheon or Navona. They're all in the heart of the city & many attractions are within walking distance.

I stayed at a great little hotel called Domus Julia in Via Veneto. It was clean & cute & they bring a continental breakfast to your room. I got a really reasonable rate there for peak season.

Check out whatever hotel you're looking at at www.tripadvisor.com. Other travellers rate their experience staying there.

Have a fantastic time. Rome is amazing.

Termini! There is the principal train station and also the most interesting sites to visit.

Stay near the Pantheon or Piazza Navona for lively street life in the evening, or my second choice would be near the Spanish steps (Via Sistina is nice). The piazza at the end of Via Sistina has a metro stop that can take you everywhere. (Metro stops are not as plentiful in Rome as in other cities) Be smart and you will stay safe anywhere. Have fun :)

There are so many choices and lots of different prices. I've attached a link I use when make bookings for people flying in. You can look at the hotel and then at a map provided to see where abouts it is. Have fun planning!!

Termini it is central, but not safe for 3 girls!!!!! PLS avoid that area, take a look on www.bbitalia.it........A very good central area can be Trastevere!!!!

Stay around termini station,no expensive hotels, not dangerous,is close to the centre and well-connected because is a station, which is terminal for coaches and for 2 metropolitan underground lines.
