Audiance with the Pope in Vatican City? Going on Nov. 10, 2006?

Does the Pope have public audiances every day? Do we need a ticket?

the smaller private audiences are set up by your home town diocese and rather challenging to come by in such a short time - however if you're close to your pastor - it wouldn't hurt to ask.

every wednesday there is an audience int he back of the vatican - walking into the square it's entrance is to the left. the tickets are free but forgive me, we got them through our priest so i'm not sure how to get them. i believe the time was 10:30am for the arrival. it's really something to see and i hope you are able to go - it was very overwhelming when we went and something i'll always cherish.

try and make it for the angelius too --

I'm not sure if theres a public audience everyday, but if there is on your day, get there early so you can be closer, and beat the long lines, you've got to go through security and metal detectors, at least for Pope John Paul the 2nd I did, and I think we had tickets, but that was covered through our travel guide.

The Pope Blesses the crowd every Sunday and Weds at 11:00 or Noon. No ticket needed. Get there about an hour before and buy some stuff (a rosary, etc.) to hold in your hands when he Blesses the crowd so your stuff will have been Blessed by Him.
The crowd is always large rain or shine. He appears at his bedroom window (facing St. Peter's it is the second one from the end, top floor on the right.) they will hand a banner out ust before he comes out.

There are also smaller Papal audiences held inside the Vatican. To attend these you need to go through your priest, get a letter and contact the Vatican. I'm not sure it can be done between now and November 10.
