Milan is at least 2 hours drive from the nearest coastal beach which will be in Liguria, but there are some small beaches on the shores of Lake Como which might do you. That's about 30 mins North.
The weather in June is fine for stripping down to your swimming cossie. |

Believe it or not even Milan has its own beach....!!!
At the Idroscalo (called 'La spiaggia dei Milanesi" i.e
"Milaneses' beach) you'll find whatever you can expect.
It's not the seaside (that's obviously far a 2-3 hours driving) but you can take a sun bath and even swim (if you don't care the water that's not too clean...!!)
This is the route from the centre of Milan (Duomo's square) to Idroscalo's lake.

If you're instead looking for the sea beaches the closest are in Liguria region, abt.150/200 kms far from Milan.
Weather is always unpredictable and at 20 days distance it's impossible to offer you a serious forecast. Let's hope it will be just fine, like you prefer. |

There are no beaches in Milan!
Some years ago one beach was "built" bringing tonns of sand in the rea of the "Arco della Pace", but I don't know if they're going to make it this year.
Or you can go to the "Idroscalo", it is not a proper beach at a proper sea, but you can find water and sunbath.
If you want sand there is a fashionable place whose name is "Onda Anomala", which has sand on the floor and beach umbrellas, but it is open only in the evening. |

Lakes are half an hour / one hour from Milan (Lago di Garda, Lago di Como, Lago Maggiore), while in Milan people can go to Idroscalo http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idroscalo_di_Milano now suitable for pic-nic, sport (both on water and beach), etc.A lot of shows' are also held there. |

There are beaches on the lakes of garda, maggiore. The best beaches are near Geneve or in emilia-romagna on the adriatic sea. |

The nearest beach is on the mediterranean!
You could go to the lakes.
I asked the same question when in milan. They say one hour to the lakes; two to the sea. I do not believe anything Italians say about driving times. There must be enormous traffic jams at the weekends!
Check the train timetables |

Milan and suburbs has nearly 3,5 millions people and everyone says that is a place made only for work.
I cannot immagine what could happen in case of sunny wheater and sea. |

Michigan is the great outdoors—and the exciting variety of activities that go with an outdoor state. Spend just a few glorious minutes on a Michigan beach and it becomes easy to understand why poems, love songs, novels, operas and even menus, are written in tribute to the beach experience. With over 3,200 miles of shoreline, 11,000 inland lakes, and with more freshwater coastline than any other state, a relaxing Michigan waterfront respite is easy to find. |
