For what I know there are only a couple of beaches in Trieste as such. There are more in Ronchi dei Legionari and of course in Grado. They are nice places but not the best of all.

The beaches father south are the best. If you ever visit Italy again, visit Calabria, Campania(South of Naples) or Sicily for great beaches.

By the way Heil I don't appreciate your comment. sei un stronzo!!!!

They are right, the beaches are mosre beautiful in the south. But, if you are in Trieste you might as well visit the Istrian peninsula in Croatia, to Rovinj, Porec, Pula. Or the coast south of Rijeka. About 2 hrs drive from Trieste, rock coast but water is beautiful and clear.

Croatia is often awarded the "Blue Flag" from the EU for the cleanest beaches!

I think that the beaches in the southern are beautiful, the sea is blue and the sun is very hot. There is not the same situation in north because there is a different landscape. So, I prefer the beaches in Puglia. If you can, go there...
