depends on what you are wanting to see.... we have beautiful mountains, coast, central areas.........
I would reccomend torino for mountains, very nice for skii and also very nice city.......
um... in the south they have nice beaches (and the best pizza)..... but in the north I would reccomend Rimini.......and of course if you like the touristy places..... Roma..... Venezia....... Pisa.......Sardenia is also very nice..... where ever you decide to visit I hope that you really enjoy it!!!! |

There's not one better than the others. You find beauty everywhere you go. |

Mine, which is Cagliari in Sardinia. From a less partial perspective I would say Florence and Siena. |

Florence (firenze in italian) It has EVERYTHING you need to go back with a full italian experience from art to food! |

Anywhere in Sicily but I'm partial. Seriously, Italy is a beautiful country and I'm sure anywhere you will visit will be memorable. Just bring a lot of cash. |

You have many chance: Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples and so more... But also Lecce and Salento peninsula (in the Apulia region) are beautiful. |

sooo hard ot chose....I actually loved all the cities I went to for different reasons.....
Verona had a lovely feel to it, nice and relaxed and some pretty things to see ( lovely garden, Juliettes Balcony, colloseum)
Venice was soooo different to the other cities....its pretty and dank at the same time ( eg some of the roads/walkways can be VERY narrow, dark and dank)....but going along the main waterways is so pretty. Its quite small and you can walk round it quickly.
Siena was so pretty in a medieval kind of way....rolling cobbled roads ( not good for dragging my suitcase along!!). I would have liked to have stayed longer here.
Rome had quite a bit to offer...i think I would have benefited from knowing more about the history to appreciate it more, but they have the lovely Trevi fountain, Roman amphitheatre and collosuem...
Florence was really pretty and the buildings lovely...but people, people, people everyhwere kind of made it feel a bit overwhelming...its close to Pisa and a lovely town called Lucca which is real benefit. Lots of renaissance and arty things to see and do there however, which probably is hard to beat.
Bologna was more mediveal again and quite a different feel...again I wish I had more time...I really only had a few hours there, but it looked rather interesting. |

Florence and Toscana. I live in Italy, in particular in Rome and it's too expensive and not good to stay a long time...there are a lot of problems here. Trust me, if you're coming to Italy, visit the most important seesights and take the train to Florence. You'll see a beautiful city and maybe the real Italy..
Trust me... Good luck! |

Just got back from Italy. Rome is very anti-American right now and horribly expensive. It cost money just to use the public bathrooms and a store owner that I bought something from wouldn't even allow me to throw away a peice of trash that I picked up off the sidewalk in his garbage can. However, if you go to the wine country like Tuscany or Umbria it's a lot better. Stay away from Rome or Venice - stinky and touristy. |
