It has to be Milan...but it's still quite expensive. Via della Spiga, Via Monte Napoleone ecc are where all the big fashion brands are. But they're really expensive and quite exclusive. There are some outlets not too far from Milano (as Serravalle) where you can get great deals on brand name stuff.... Good shopping! |

Go in July or January, when the end-of season sales are.
Otherwise, do like in the US and go outlet shopping (you need a car, outlets are few and out of the way) ...
Great places for shopping are Bologna and Naples, if you are looking for bargains. If money is of no concern, obviously Milano and Rome. |

Milan is the best place to go for shopping. There are plenty of shops that sell designer clothing/accessories on the way into town. There is also a huge outlet place that sells everything about an hours drive away. You can get buses there too. |

Which ever city your in or town in Italy they have open markets .Ask for the marketo and what day they will be in your visiting town. I got Dolce Gabbana for 50euros,shoes all leather from 10 euros to maximum 50 euros.
End of season there are always sales.Go to boutiques away from tourist attractions much ,much cheaper. |

Milan is the fashion capital.
Via Monte Napeleone is the street with all the top designers on. However there's nothing reasonably priced there! There are some warehouses outside with out of season stock. These do not compare to similar ones in the US in my experience though.
I personally go for high street stuff - Sisley for clothes, Calzedonia for great bikini and tights, Bata and Bagatt for shoes, Pupa for make-up.
Or there are generally loads of little local boutiques if you want to pick up something unique. |
