I am from Rome, and I suggest you...

...BIRRERIA TRILUSSA!!!! (Trastevere)
http://www.birreriatrilussa.it/eng/menu.html
No-Stop Pasta Menu
60 types of pasta till you say stop! :)))
12,50 euro

Other good restaurants....

Giggetto al portico d'Ottavia
http://www.giggettoalportico.com/
PRICES: about 30 euro

Sora Lella
http://www.soralella.com/ita/home.php
PRICES: about 40 euro

Hostaria dell'Orso
http://www.hdo.it/ita/storia.htm
PRICES: about 120 euro

Or, if you prefer, go to a pizzeria! A pizza is about 5 euro, a menù Pizza+Fritti+Beer is about 10-12 euro

I have never been to Venice, but I have been to Rome. Honestly, I didn't eat at a bad place there. We just walked around and stopped at the restaurants that looked most interesting. I will say though, that the smaller they were the better they seemed to be (food wise).

There are several good restaurants in Trastevere. I especially like "Romolo" on the Via Porta Settimiana 8. In summer, you can eat in the beautiful garden! It is said that La Fornarina, Rafaël's girlfriend, used to live in this house. "Ferrara" is a very good wine-bar on the Piazza Trilussa, www.enotecaferrara.it. One of the best pizzeria's in town should be "Remo" on the Piazza Santa Maria Liberatrice. Enjoy!
