Brit going to work in Italy?

I should be going to work in Italy for 3months. Do i need a working Visa? Or is that all up to the company to sort out? I don't really understand the tax situation either :S would i pay there?
Additional Details
i was recommended to this company through my last job so it's a relocation of the same job. I'm waiting for a call this week for more information but it starts quite soon and i just wanted to make sure i had everything i needed to know and be prepared.

Because Italy is in the EU you should not need a visa. If you are there for less than six months you should not pay tax there but you are still liable for UK tax. Has your company not told you all this?

.Laura
Obviously you have to pay tax there! If you work there you pay your tax there....not that different from england, when i used to work there i was paying my tax on my wage slip (loads taxes actually) so is exatly the same...about the working visa not sure...i dont think so...i think it will be enough your passport and the company should sort the things out even if when i was in england they gave me an hard time with my id card, perfectly accepted everywhere, probably at the white house either, but not there... ( is the officially european community documents recognized in each part of europe except britain likely, but...here we go...european) so i dont think you will have to cope with the same morons and your passport will be fine
