Bus/Train From Siena to Pienza?
I'm checking the train from Siena to Pienza but I could not find it. I'm also looking for any bus service but there was no timetable/routemap found on the web.
Has anyone been there by bus or train, not by a car? (I have no intention of renting a car in Italy.)
There's a schedule planner for the Siena buses here: http://www.busfox.com/timetable/ . The #112 bus stops in Pienza on the way to Montepulciano.
You can also find the Siena bus schedules here in .pdf format: http://www.trainspa.it/en/home.html Click on "Timetables", then on the next page click on Extraurbano. The schedule for the #112 bus is on pages 16 & 17 of the PDF file.

If you have the choice, definitely go for the train. It's faster, a lot more reliable, and comfortable.

I live in this area but I normally travel by car. I can tell you there should be a direct bus leaving outside the train station of Siena and going directly to Pienza.
For info you can write to
Ufficio Relazioni con il Pubblico di SIENA MOBILITA' SCARL
S.S. 73 Levante, 23 - 53100 SIENA

Alternatively you can catch the train Siena-Chiusi and then get the bus outside Chiusi station going to Pienza via Montepulciano.
Hope having been helpful. Have a good journey.

There is no realistic possibility to travel by train. It's about 40 miles. If the weather was nice, I'd take scooter.
