Of course you can, they're going to be all single tickets but now it doesn't make much difference to book singles instead of returns cos the retuns tickets are two singles...from Milan to Venice you will be spoilt for choice one little bit of advice try to avoid trains marked as "IR" they stop in every station they're murder. Of course intercity trains will cost you more and "ES" eurostars pendolino are upmarket but worth it also bare in mind that if a Pendolino train is more than 30 minutes late you're entitled of reimbursment of the supplement. They will not tell you that in Italy trust me! Also whatever you do DO NOT FORGET to stamp the train ticket in the yellow machines you see in the train stations cos if your ticket gets checked on the train you will have to pay a FINE. I think I said everything here is the link for everything you need http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html enjoy Italy.
P.s if you got time on your way to Venice from Milan stop in Desenzano del Garda even only for a day to admire the beauty of Lake Garda. I'm Italian by the way but I live in wet Wales. Cioa buon viaggio.

Hello,

You can book the tickets through trenitalia.com but unless you have a credit card from Europe it usually doesn't work. There is something with the site that only takes European cards. You can also book through a second party like raileurope but they will charge you a big service charge. The best thing to do is wait until you get to Italy to buy your tickets. The train system there is wonderful and there are many trains daily to and from the cities you have listed. You can buy all your tickets the first day in Italy. If you can't make it to a train station, just find a travel agent. They don't up-charge on the tickets and can get you the exact ones you need. You can look at the trenitalia website to see the timetables and the costs before you go to get an idea of travel time and cost.

try http://www.trenitalia.com/en/

Should get enough info about rates and schedules. Don't forget to stamp the train ticket in the yellow machines you see in the train stations.

Try this www.ferroviedellostato.it. You'll be able to buy your ticket on line in this site.
