I'm sure you will be able to find Murano glass in Rome. Unfortunately it will likely be just the higher end stuff (or be imitations if it's cheap). In Venice you have more opportunity to pick up something in a reasonable price range that is really from Murano. But you should try anyway, your mom will love you for it.
I did some searching on the 'net to try to find a store in Rome for you, but either my search skills or my Italian failed me.
Best of luck. Enjoy Rome! |

Hi
Just to inform you about the Murano's Glass
It's very nice and it's very expensive but a lot of time the shops to sell the not original glass put a stamps red /( not original logo)with writing made in Murano , but it's not original,
this way you believe to have purchased a thing to good price
Now there is a new logo.
You remember that the whole glass orginale is never perfect, always introduces some imperfections of form. Hand Made
and
and remembered to verify you the signature of the artist
I live to venezia, job in Venice and if they serve not you other information you hesitate to contact me.

If I recall correctly, there are a few shops in Rome that do sell Murano glass. But I haven't been there in five years, so that may have changed...I would imagine though that there should be at least one or two places to pick some up!
Good luck, she will love the glass if you do get a chance to pick it up! |
