My wife and I spent a week in Nicolosi in November 2007, when we inaugurated her Painting Exhibition. Great little place, it’s called the “Gateway to Mount Etna”. You can look up their Web Site and see for yourself. We flew in from Rome to Catania Airport, rented a car (inexpensive weekly rate of € 160 for a medium sized car) an drove up. No problems at all. We stayed at one of the many B/B ( BB Notti & Dintorni) , but there are also a few reasonable Hotels. From there you can drive to the Mt. Etna base camp and then take the Funicular, and a guided tour. Enjoy yourself, it was a lovely experience.

Yea, like already mentioned.... you can Google map it.

I was up there last August (and just over the weekend in Catania - it (Etna) is absolutely covered with snow!)... and the drive at the tree line is beautiful... and then when you get above the tree line it becomes surreal.
