I stayed in an Ibis Hotel in Rome. It is just when you enter Rome, so it was not very busy at all. It is fairly cheap and has good service.

I stayed at hotel Ariston a couple of years ago. It's near the train station. Very clean, modern and reasonably priced. There is also a full (american) breakfast served
