Lovely italian restaurant near the Trevi, think its called The Emporioum, cheap and food is great, For a good chinese try Streams near Spanish Steps, for some reason Chinese is really cheap, for take away kebabs you should check out one near termini on Via Cavour, also a lot of eating places on Via Amendola also near Termini

I stumbelled upon this one by accident, and it was the best restruarant that I found in Rome

Buccilli Hostaria - Via dei Due Ponti 48. This traditional trattoria has a warm and friendly family atmosphere. They serve a range of traditional Roman dishes; fish dishes; and seasonal game and Porcini dishes. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable.

You got Cantina Tirolesa nearby San Pietro, food is good and price is ok. Al Toscano is a pretty good one, a bit more expensive. Something traditional but good, L'Isola della Pizza. Outside Rome, but not far away, there is Vecchio Casale.
