You can find a list of a list of 3 star hotels in Rome here
http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com/central-hotel-in-rome.html

All Hotels on the list have already been checked with regards to travelers reviews and also value for money.
In addition the site uses HotelsCombined to compares prices from several online hotel booking companies which greatly increases your chances of getting the best rates for your hotel booking in Rome Italy.

Termini is probably the least attractive or authentic area in Central Rome - and rather seedy. Many tourists choose Termini area because it's convenient for transport. I would reconsider this - there are many much nicer areas of central Rome (Trastevere, Campo de Fiori, Navona, Trevi , to name some) where you can have a much fuller and very different experience of Rome as to what you will have in Termini - plus your proximity to the Rome attractions means you won't need to rely as much on public transport as you would in Termini.

If you are unsure about which area of Central Rome you would like to book your accommodation you can see http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com/rome-italy-map.html for some advice and maps of the central Rome areas.
Enjoy!

termini is a dangerous area at night lots of girls are often raped there. stay else where in safer areas.

If I can be so bold as to suggest another area, may I suggest that there are several very nice boutique hotels at the bottom of the Spanish Steps. This is a really great area and is located adjacent to the Metro stop. The Metro stops under the Termini Station. In addition to the steps, there is shopping, a short walk to the Via Veneto, a short subway ride to Vatican City..

If you are interested, e-mail me and I will send you the names of the hotels.

Hi, I was last in Rome in October I stayed at a great place near Termini station called the Beehive hotel http://www.the-beehive.com/
Very stylish and great food, Im a vegetarian. while the area surrounding the train staion and bus depot are hectic, I wouldnt say it is dangerous (there is prostitution, but mostly the male hustler kind) remember the Opera House and one of Rome's most visited basillicas Sta. Marie Maggiore are just a few blocks from Termoini, not to mention the Colleseum and Forum, as well as St Peter in Chains where you can see Michaelangelo's Moses stautue, this area is also known as Monte, one of Rome's most exclusive neighborhoods.
