Not until next summer? Perfect! You have time to read all about Italy in the seven travelogues (with pictures) on our web site: http://www.thetravelzine.com/ My suggestion is to read the most recent dates first (since the pictures are prettier). By the time you finish, you'll be an expert. Just keep jotting down the names of places you want to see when you get there. You'll love Italy - guaranteed. :-)

Ooh ooo - I know this one! I was in Italy last month in the Cities of Naples, Siracusa, and Genoa. One thing I thought was really cool was that, at least in these cities, almost all the business would shut down (except restaurants) from about noon til 3pm or so. It was a really fun time because everyone would just be strolling around, eating, drinking, chatting, window shopping and stuff like that. I thought it was a really nice custom.

Authentic Italian food is rather different from what we're used to in America. Their food (in comparison) tends to be more bland and simple. Their gelato (ice cream) is to die for. If you're female then expect men to pay more attention to you - whistles, cat calls, etc. Don't be all offended and huffy like a typical American woman; typically you just ignore it or just smile and keep moving on.

Last time I was there, leather goods were decently priced. The architecture and history of the area is beautiful and varied. Go to Rome! See the Vatican (Vatican City) and the Colosium. Drink their wines on the beach. Learn Italian and fall in love with the country.
