It depends from where you are.
London standsfed has ryanair... that flight to Rome Ciampino and is very cheap... then you can find a B&B in rome.. but Rome is not so cheap.
I would suggest you a farmhouse... even if not so near to the center sure is cheaper!
just give into internet B&B rome...
Or Agriturismo in Roma.
