In Firenze, there is a very famous restaurant called Latini that you should go to, whether you are a tourist or not. Other suggestions, there is Gobbo 13 that is so good, or a pizzeria called Totto e Fratelli (not 100% sure of the name though). The food in toscana in general is the best in Italy, so take advatage of that point and go to Trattorie as often as possible. A trattoria is a restaurant that is run by a family, which makes the place cozier and the prices better. Also, in Firenze there is a restaurant that is arguablly the best in Italy; I can't remember its name, but I think you can easily find it. Don't expect good prices though. |

in Venice there is a street called Via Giuseppe Garibaldi - it is a very wide street whcih is a rarity in Venice. it starts at the grand Canal but past all of the tourist stuff if you walk towards the lido. there are some touristy restaurants at first but keep walking a bit....there is one I cannot rtemember the name starts with a G though. It was GREAT food, VERY nice service and VERY local. Kids playing in the street with their parents after dark added to the very local neighbohood feeling. |
