The Coliseum, while something of a cliche, is a must see, as is Vio Vittorio Veneto, The Trevi Fountain (although keep your money close there, the crows are huge and dense), and the Vatican. The Roman Forum is kind of overrated, as there is very little actually there.

ST PETER'S BASILICA
Coliseum
Trevi Fountain
Roman Forum
Pantheon
