I am 21 years old and a member of AEGEE. I am studying in Istanbul Technical University. I want to travel Rome and also want to see the night life of Rome ;-) Is there anyone who wants to have fun?...
are there any places around the airport that i could check out while i wait for my next flight? Cafes, any quaint little places? and with reasonably priced transportation?...
We will be staying in Positano for 6 days and would very much like to see Naples, Pompei and much of the Amalfi Coast. Although we have heard so much it's so difficult to choose the best trips ...
Ciao tutti~
I am transferring from Malpensa Airport and have 10 hours between flights (arriving 7:00, leaving 21:00) I want to see the city by this time. How can I go Milan city center (cheapest)...
We have one free day in each city and I was hoping to get to Rome for a day to see the Vatican. Also...has anyone been to any of these cities? I'd love to hear what you thought of your visit....

The name of the port of Rome is CIVITAVECCHIA.
The SNAV ship needs about 13h.

If it's small enough to get it in the hold of an aeroplane on a Rome flight.

You could, but it would take much too long for a daytrip (it's a long way!). Train would be quicker, and also much cheaper. Though I still think a daytrip would be ambitious, as it takes 11 hours. Costs €58 on an Intercity train (the quickest kind for this route).
Why not visit some of the wonderful places in the south of Italy instead?

Yes there are boats, but you can not make it as a day trip. Save Rome for another time when you have more then a few hours as there is too much to see to bother coming for a short time!
